CHAPTER XII. PUBLIC PROPERTYCHAPTER XII. PUBLIC PROPERTY\Article 2. Golf Course Advisory Board

(a)   There is hereby created and established an Advisory Board to be known as the Pretty Prairie Golf Course Advisory Board. The purpose of the Board is advisory in nature, and is intended to assist the City of Pretty Prairie in the enhancement of the Golf Course and in the promotion of the ancient and honorable game of golf. All reports, recommendations and actions made by the Board to the Governing Body shall be advisory only, unless otherwise specified by the Governing Body of Pretty Prairie.

(b)   The Board shall consist of five (5) members who shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of the Governing Body. One of the appointed members shall also be a member in good standing of the Pretty Prairie Recreational Board/Council. 11iree (3) of the appointed members shall reside within the city limits of Pretty Prairie, Kansas. The Pretty Prairie Golf Course contractor and one (1) member of the Pretty Prairie Governing Body shall serve as ex-officio members of the Board.

(c)   The term of office of the Pretty Prairie Golf Course Advisory Board shall be three (3) years from the date of appointment: EXCEPT the appointed member also serving on the Recreational Board/Council shall serve a term of one (1) year. For the Board first-appointed, two (2) members shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years, and two (2) members shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years. Vacancies on the Board shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor, subject to approval of the Governing Body. Members shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive three (3) year terms in addition to any partial or unexpired term to which they may have been appointed.

(d)   There shall be no compensation to any Pretty Prairie Golf Advisory Board member.

(e)   The Board shall meet at least quarterly, in regular sessions, at a time and place to be decided by the Board. Special meetings may be called by the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson or by a majority of the members of the Board. A majority of the appointed membership (three) shall constitute a quorum. More than two (consecutive) unexcused absences shall constitute grounds for removal from the Board by the Governing Body.

(f)   The Governing Body shall have the right to review the conduct, actions, communications and recommendations of the Board, and may ask for, and received in writing a detailed report of all Board activities.
