CHAPTER XII. PUBLIC PROPERTYCHAPTER XII. PUBLIC PROPERTY\Article 1. City Parks

(a)   That the rules of operation for the city parks be as follows:

(1)   The parks are open daily from dawn to dusk. Use may be extended with pre-arranged approval from the City office.

(2)   No alcoholic beverage consumption is allowed on City owned property.

(3)   All park users shall be responsible for depositing their trash containers.

(4)   Open fires are not allowed in unauthorized areas.

(5)   Persons or groups requesting reservation for shelter houses may contact the city office during working hours prior to the time requested. Reservation is granted on a first come, first served basis. The person who made the reservation is responsible for clean-up of the facility.

(6)   Motorized vehicles, including ATV’s, are not allowed. All signs prohibiting motorized vehicles must be strictly observed.

(7)   Dogs must be kept on a leash or be under the direct control of their owner. Pet waste deposited on trails or play areas must be removed by pet owner.

(8)   Bicycles are restricted to areas designated as allowable for bicycles, and are prohibited from “off road” riding where such roads, trails and walkways do not exist.

(9)   Horses and horseback riding are not allowed.

(10) Please respect other park users by keeping noise levels low.

(11) The use of firearms is prohibited anywhere within the city limits.

(12) The use of fireworks is prohibited on city property, including city parks.

(b)   The park rules set forth above shall be posted in the public park of Pretty Prairie, Kansas Posted rules may be condensed in form.

(c)   Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this section shall neither be fined less than twenty-five ($25.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense.
